Gender Reveal Scan FAQ

How early can I find out the gender of my baby?

We can accurately identify the biological sex of your baby from 15 weeks gestation. At this stage, the anatomy is usually clear enough for our expert sonographers to give you a confident result. If the baby is in a tricky position, we’ll always prioritise accuracy and may suggest a quick stretch or a walk to get them moving!

What if I want the gender to be a surprise for a later date?

We love surprises! If you are planning a reveal party or want to find out with your partner privately later, just let your sonographer know at the start of the appointment. We can look away from the screen during that part of the scan and tuck the result into a sealed “Call To Scan” envelope for you to open whenever you’re ready.

Is the Gender Reveal Scan safe for my baby?

Yes, absolutely. Like all our services, the Gender Reveal Scan uses standard diagnostic ultrasound (sound waves, not radiation), which has been used in prenatal care for decades with no known risks to mother or baby. Our sonographers are HCPC registered professionals who follow the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle to ensure total safety.

How accurate is a gender scan at 15 weeks?

While no ultrasound can offer a 100% guarantee due to factors like baby’s position or maternal BMI, our scans at 15+ weeks are highly accurate. If we are unable to see the gender clearly during your appointment because of the baby’s position, we will discuss the best next steps with you to ensure you get a definitive answer.

Can my family and friends watch the scan at my home?

One of the best parts of a mobile scan is that there are no “two-person” clinic limits! You can have your partner, children, or grandparents right there in the room with you. As long as there is enough space for the sonographer to work, we encourage you to share this special milestone with your loved ones.
